
The Gold Coast is the tourist mecca of Australia with thousands of visitors arriving everyday from around the world. So why the Gold Coast? The answer is simple!
1. Climate - The Gold Coast climate is perfect all year round with an average of averages of 245 days of fine and sunny weather. Summer is between December and February with temperatures between 20 to 28 degrees Celsius with the odd day in the 30 plus temperatures. During summer the humidity can be extremely high, especially January and February, expect to see some fantastic tropical storms.
Winter is between June and August with temperatures between 11 to 21 degrees Celsius. The weather is normally still very sunny with much lower humidity levels. Jackets would only be needed at night, the rest of the day you can expect to be wearing shorts and t-shirts.
2. Beaches - The beaches of the Gold Coast are well known around the world. For surfing or relaxing you are sure to find a beach that will suit your requirements. Surfers can look for the points such as Burleigh, Snapper and Kirra. Popular beach breaks include Duranbah at Tweed Heads and South Stradbroke (TOS). If you are more into relaxing on the sand with your frinds and taking a dip to cool off, you have a wide number of beaches to chose from. Make sure you swim between the flags just to be safe.
3. Theme Parks - Movie World, Wet 'n' Wild, Seaworld are Dreamworld are the main theme park attractions. They cover a range of activities and themes to keep the kids entertained. You will also find something to keep the big kid in all of us as entertained as well!
